I really enjoyed the food here. I passed by it when I went to Cadence last week and made a note to come back. I'm glad I did. The sweet Thai baos were phenomenal (sadly didn't get a picture as we inhaled them). I've never had kimchi Mac and cheese before and it was a delight. The dumplings came in a curry sauce and they were some of the tastiest dumplings I've had in a while. The only thing that I felt was lacking was the matcha tres leches. It looked and tasted more like a trifle, which admittedly is still good. However, the majority of the layers of matcha cake were dry, and the true tres leches part was at the very bottom.
LADYBIRD is one of my favorite 100% vegan spots in the city. It has an upscale, elegant-but-fun vibe. The drinks are always great - my go-to is the one simply named LADYBIRD. (Delicious and easy to remember!) The food is always excellent, and they recently overhauled the menu with some incredible Asian-inspired dishes. I went with a friend and tried almost the entire new menu: Watermelon Tacos, the Sweet Thai Bun, Cucumber Salad, Miso-glazed Avocado, Bánh Mì Toast (my favorite), the Hot Udon bowl, the Tonkatsu Sandwich, the Kimchi Mac & Cheese, and the Cherry Yuzu Cheesecake. It's a very different menu than in the past...but, as always, it is incredibly well done. Ladybird is a perfect date spot, but you can also enjoy it with a group of friends for an upscale occasion. I highly recommend it.
Food, nothing out of the extraordinary but vegetarians might like the variety. Service: very fast , attentive some kind weirdly friendly.. Ambience was the best part, music from the 2000's and people having a normal conversations without yelling to be heard. Decor was the highlight for a very small place. Pricey, def. My group will keep looking for veg restaurants for sure.
The ambiance is very cool; the colors and style is inviting and charming. The staff is friendly. The space is a little tight so prepare to be close to your neighbors. The food is okay but the drinks were very tasty. Cute vegan spot to hang when in the city.
The food was very good buffalo fried oyster bao buns were delicious. The place is quaint but ok for a date or small group. They do not serve alcohol but is byob. Decorated nicely but could stand updating. Service was adequate.
They have some new items on the menu like the Banh Mi Toast and Kimchi Mac and cheese and it's delicious. Definitely go try it if you haven't. Service and ambiance are great and never disappoint.
Came to visit from Chicago! Amazing food, lovely flavors, and kind staff. Will be back - hopefully this expands! Ambiance is great for a date, dark setting and not loud. Thank you!
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Ladybird! It is an entirely vegan restaurant which is ideal for me (dairy allergy). However, some places don't do dairy substitutes well. Ladybird did it VERY well. My friend and I both got deserts. I had the creme brule and it was really good! The waitress we had was also fantastic. She gave us great wine recommendations for things that would either pair nicely or wouldn't clash with our food. The location was also super cute.
This is a mid-size vegan spot in EV, and it's tasty with lots of options! Came here with a couple of friends, and we got everything to share. The cauliflower bun is excellent, but I will note the buns are a bit difficult to share. The Caesar salad was surprisingly tasty (I don't normally like Caesar salads), and the ice cream dessert is a standout. Definitely get that one. The other dishes were surprising too, like the grilled cheese (which had a decent cheese pull). The service was a bit slow and our server wasn't as attentive on our drinks, but a cool spot to explore vegan food, especially if you're not vegan.
